About Dry Basement Network

Dry Basement Network is a free referral service for homeowners with wet basements, damp crawl spaces and related foundation problems. We are not a contractor and do not perform any work ourselves. When you call, a partner call center listens to what is going on and connects you with an independent contractor who serves your area. You are never obligated to hire anyone.

How we are paid

The service is free for homeowners. Contractors or our call center partner may pay a fee for referrals. That fee does not change what you pay the contractor, and it does not influence the information in our guides. We do not publish reviews or ratings of contractors, and we never publish testimonials we cannot verify.

How we research our content

  • Primary sources first. Climate figures come from NOAA and the National Weather Service, flood history from the National Weather Service, the USGS and other public agencies, building requirements from the International Residential Code and state rules, and licensing information from the state and local agencies that issue the licenses.
  • Published cost data, clearly labeled. Prices come from published cost guides such as HomeAdvisor, Angi, Fixr and This Old House. We name the source next to each figure and present them as orientation, never as quotes.
  • Sources on the page. Our region pages and guides list their sources at the end, so you can check them yourself.
  • Dates. Each guide shows when it was last updated. We review cost figures and program details (such as city rebate programs) regularly, because they change.
  • Plain language, no scare tactics. We explain the cheap fixes as well as the expensive ones, and we say clearly when something is outside our scope, such as radon mitigation or insurance advice.

Corrections

If you find an error or an outdated figure, please email hello@drybasementnetwork.com. We check every report against the original source and update the page.
